It is a cosmic principle.
The Eternal Mystery,
Moves and flows
As waters from Â
A well, a stream, a rock,
A mikvehThe ritual bath. The waters of the mikveh symbolically purify – they are seen as waters of rebirth. A convert immerses in the mikveh as part of conversion. Many Orthodox married women go to the mikveh following their period and before resuming sexual relations. Couples go to the mikveh before being married. Many, including some men, immerse before Yom Kippur; some go every Friday before Shabbat.,
Tears.
Â
Not everything
Will make sense
Because the shift
Has not been
Entirely stilled.
Â
We have not yet
Arrived.
Â
We are in the process
Of arriving.
Â
There comes a time,
In most of our lives,
When what has fed us
Becomes unpalatable:
When manna
Â
Is no longer enough.
We do not want
To be vapidly filled.
Â
We want to be nourished.
We want to,
Need to,
Must strive to,
Sate ourselves
With sustenance
That meets
Our need.
Â
My motherÂ
Has returned toÂ
From where
My provision comes.
Â
It falls to me,
To look upon
The staffÂ
Raised up,
Â
To be healed,
To produce,
To create,
To participate
More fully,
In what will become
A landscape
Of greater
Substance.
Â
My own
Unveiled,
Promised,
Promising,
Milk and honey.
