This prayer/blessing was written in 2020 for the 50th anniversary of Christopher Street Liberation Day, what we now collectively call Pride.
“And everyone has a Sea of Reeds to cross, / Everyone has a story…”
“Please one who receives, crack me open so all I do is open…”
“May the Holy Oneness hold us in the Light / so we may gaze upon the Sacred in each other’s eyes.”
“May I be humbled to not to feel as though I have any true power to create meaningful, lasting change from my squares of influence…”
“To you, oh God of change, passage, flux, upheaval, and progress / be with us as the seasons turn…”
“We cannot outrun / what humans have wrought…”
“If we gather around the Seder table in joy and don’t make room for tears, lo dayenu…”
“On this night, as we gather in our narrow places, / how can we not mourn the loss of our dear ones, those in captivity, those gone, those no longer our friends?”
