Every moment of every day invites us to pay attention. We can marvel at what happens within ourselves and the world outside of us. Some of us do this through prayer, others through mindfulness and meditation. No matter what form it takes, noticing and appreciating the wonder of life enhances the act of living.
Originally written for Human Rights Shabbat, this prayer seeks to capture the hope that the social justice teachings of Torah, and the ethical impulses they inspire, will be mirrored in the actions of our governments on all levels.
This contemporary version offers a revised list of ten things which a person enjoys in this world, but the reward remains in the world to come
A prayer honoring all people and connections to be recited on Pride Shabbat or any day
A kavannah before the prayer mah tovu or for parshat BalakÂ
Breathe along with this poem praising the Source of all breath
Interpretive Amidah translations and meditations for recitation out of doors
Praying for strength to emerge from our narrow places in order to enter into the promised land
