Adam v’Mayyim: The Prayer Becomes the Praying

mountains sunrise fog clouds
There were lines
Creating maps,
Birthing through minor key,
In sounds not yet heard;
Site: Yizkor
Turned the soil
Watered beyond tears,
Into an act
Of Tikkun Olam.
We are here,
Born of all the earth’s
Contracting womb.
We are here
By the sake of rakhamim.
We are here
To find the cracks
At the edges of possibilities,
As new gods
Are delivered
Through labor pangs
Of Creation’s next
Radiant iteration.

Let us tell our stories
Of destruction
In order to hear
The drum beats
Of those also grieving.
Earth and water
Crying out,
The performance
Of every field,
As we sing, together,
The Tenth Song
Of Creation:
Compassion:
The geology of
All of Creation.
