Prayer After the Death of a Difficult Person

headstone with hebrew writing and stones on top
when bad
difficult
uncomplicated
unnecessarily
terrible people
die
i was taught to place a rock on their headstones
from dust to ash
as it is written
as we return
genesis 18:27
but g-d of our first ancestor
g-d of the child who fled their ancestor’s house
you said nothing about
licking
the dirt
off the stone
i am the rock that burst open
i will go out this house of mourning
to savor the taste of wells

Learning to Say "We": Writing Identity

In this immersion, we will reflect and expand on our personal experiences of identity, using writing exercises and in-depth discussions to think about, challenge, discover, explore, and experiment with different ways to identify ourselves, to consider how those ways connect us to and separate us from others, and how they represent and misrepresent aspects of who we are.

Four sessions, starting June 15th
