Latest Rituals

“Feeling the stone rolling off the well, / I welcome / This new day.”
“bullets have shattered / the land of make believe…”
“You said I should always feel proud—/Why wouldn’t I let my best friend know?”
“For eight days Light cries /out to you, assures you / it is safe now…”
“The world is a narrow bridge, we sing in response /  But we are not afraid.” 
This poem was written to express gratitude for one Haitian immigrant and lift up the value of welcoming the stranger.
“Putting on our uniforms with pride in the country / We were called to serve and protect…”
“Realize democracy’s gleaming promise!”
“may we atone our sins / and learn to embrace life, and each other, once again…”
