Exile

the desert in Israel
My body mirrors the division over the land,
as does my mind: traif da’at.
This hurts.

And is relentless.
The community I loved,
in the Diaspora,
my home,

is being torn apart by this war.

There are casualties.
And I am one of them.
The further we remove ourselves,
from our home,
the greater the agony

of exile.
