Stroller in a War Zone: A Blessing for the Children of Ukraine

A person walking on a paved road pushing a stroller, with fallen leaves scattered on the ground.
A blush pink stroller,
Climbing over the ruins
Of what once was a city.
Did the mother ever think
That aside from walking in the park
Or strolling through her hometown streets
One day
This stroller would safely keep her baby
Fleeing a war zone?
This was not in the product description.

I see the mothers clutching their children’s hands,
Pushing strollers with babies,
Eyes searching for refuge,
And all I can mutter in tears
Is an ancient prayer:
יברכך ה’ וישמרך
יאר ה’ פניו אליך
וישם לך שלום
Y’varekhekha Adonai v’yish’merekha
Yaer Adonai panav eilekha
v’yasem lekha shalom.
May God bless you and keep you safe
May God bring peace upon you,
Sweet children.
