In the Shadow of Bondi, Let there be Light

Starry night sky above grassy hill and bushes, with clear blue tones and faint clouds near the horizon.

Dedicated to Rabbi Daniel Raphael Silverstein

In the shadow of Bondi,

Let there be light.

On the steps of government,

And in all houses of power

Let there be light.

In the clenching of all hearts,

Let there be light.

In the division between our people

Let there be light.

On the streets of our cities

Let there be light.

Through the windows of our homes,

Let there shine light.

Infinite Source of All,

As darkness threatens,

Enable me to join

The Light of Redemption;

Now

And after the Hanukkah lights

Have had

Their season.

Strengthen me,

Through love,

And with dedication,

That my temple,

My life,

Becomes living metaphor.
