Hope Amidst the Horror

close up of person's hands on their chest outdoors in sunlight
I refuse to view the atrocities
coming to light in my news feed
but the descriptions are enough
to clog every crevice
of my brain, and so I stumble
through my workday,
weeping in between meetings
for the savagery
and for the loss of life
on both sides of the fence.

And I pray
for shalom
salaam
peace.
