In Embrace of Ruth

For those of us searching for fathers who never show
May we find it in our heart of hearts
To cling, still.

And may we find Ruth’s loving embrace
In our teachers,
In our neighbors,
In all people who nurse our broken pieces.
And when we are both famished and alone
May G-d grant us the peace of knowing valiant women
Who
With the height of the tallest wheat field
Feed the hungering depths of our seeking souls.
