Yotzer Or A Prayer Amidst and Between Darkness and Light: For Pre-Surgery Pain and Daily Illness Liminalities

God of all Time and Times,
Anointed Precision and Surprise,
I don’t know the future.
I do know the past.
And I have faith that removing this _____________ illness from me in the present is the next right and safe action for me.
And I have faith. Faith in action, in my inaction and beyond action. In goodness. In agency. In choice. In kindness and dignity toward others and, yes, myself. In what I can’t do and what I can. In living with my unknown-ings and doing the best I can with the life I have. And wading through the pain/s. Every single day.
For my sake and not my and our sakes.
Amen.
