Abraham dreamed.

And in his dream the voice of his father Terach called to him,
“Abraham, you are not following our ways.
It is time to honor Moloch
by sacrificing your son, the son you love, Yitzchak.”

And Abraham’s dream fused Terach and G!d into one.

And Abraham awoke, still lost in his dream,
gathered his donkey, some wood and Yitzchak.

And G!d screamed, “Not your son. No more sons!”

But all Abraham could hear was his dream.

And Abraham bound Yitzchak and placed him on the wood.

And G!d sent a ram to that place.
And the sound and the smell of the ram
awoke Abraham to seeing it,
as G!d sees it-Adonai Yireh.

We have sacrificed our sons
and our daughters,
but G!d never asked us to.
