The Torah of Love: An Ahavah Rabbah Alternative

a field of wildflowers

A great love does not leave behind,
it does not merely tolerate,
and it does not forget.

A great love does not keep its distance,
it does not throw up its hands and say ‘good enough,’
but sees us for the light we have shone,
and shows us to the light we have yet to shine.

אֵם הַרָחֲמִים- Mother of Compassion
With Your Torah alert our eyes
to the light we have to give,
and unify our purpose
in the loving precepts of Your Torah.
Gather us in to Your embrace,
and teach us to walk upon Your pathways of great love.

.בּרוּכָה אַתּ הֲוָיָה הַבּוֹחֶרֶת בְּאֱמוּנֶיהָ בְּאַהֲבָה
Blessed are You, Eternal One, who chooses Her faithful ones with love.
