The Glory of the Journey

Forty years Moses
wandered in the desert
to reach a land
he would never walk upon.

With awe,
we laud and remember
the majestic figure
standing on Mount Nebo,
gazing at his dream.

Someone else led
the Israelites into Canaan,
waged successful battles
and enjoyed final victory
amid the milk and honey.

Not Moses,
whose greatness is measured
by the glory of his journey,
undiminished
by a destination
never reached.
