Prayers

Gloriam Deo

For so long, we were out there,

Now we’re in here, safe from out there,

Once the world was getting smaller

Now, it’s larger, more distant, and removed,

Once, we worried about our carbon footprint,

Now, our footprints are being silently erased,

Global warming, environmental changes

Were once big issues,

Now, they’ve been replaced by a microbe,

The world changed in a virus,

It stood, at the door, and knocked,

And we ignored its presence,

Understated its significance,

And, without realizing, found ourselves

Evicted,

Once we raised our faces to kiss the face of God

But that was before our roar became a cough.
