A Prayer for a Shaky Present: Upon Hearing News of a Terrorist Attack

Can we go back?
To the days where walking was just walking?
And traveling was just moving?
And weekdays were givens, trusted moments and incapable of being stolen?

Make us remember.
And when we are done mourning,
Propel us forward.
For when living is just living.
We can take back the night.
And outlast even death.

But right now, G-d, please be with us.
