Middle Eastern Geography: A Prayer for the Cessation of Annexation

we thought our guests were
enjoying their pie

but it turns out their stomachs full up
ached

at the empty sound of the knife

and behind all the houses arranged as cemeteries

there is a single unmarked
plot

no plans for a third temple

just
a
park

you have to feel
to find
to get lost
to know

you couldn’t hit the spot
if you tried

the map is the shape of our children

is either of us really hungry
anymore?
