Praise the Lord (Psalms 150:9)
 
The red-tailed hawk, whose flight
is praise
 
bursts from the sky
to alight on a branch
 
near our window.
So vibrant, its feathers
 
vibrate below
sky’s stronghold.
 
Its quivering breath
beats as loud
 
as a timbrel or drum
in praise, in praise.
