A Kavannah for Iyar

Maybe it’s the way the ocean breathes in the nighttime and the long soft hum of the tide

Maybe it’s the way the moon hangs like low-lying branches and beckons you to come close

Maybe it’s the feeling of sunshine peering through sunken eyes and the emerging newness of light.
The clear path it forms to your own vision and seeing.

Wherever nature whispers
However it calls to you
May you answer with the pulse of your life
Such that when nature beats in time, so does your body.
And when the seasons change, your mind’s eye opens.
And your heart is brought forth like a bountiful bud.
As if to say,
“Yes, I’m ready.”
Move me to the beat of life.
