Grief – A Prayer From a Meditation on Psalm 6

A white rosebud covered in water droplets against a dark green blurred background.

Ruakh HaHayim, Maker of beginnings and endings,
You remember how fragile life is,
and recognize what can no longer be held.
My grief is heavy, a flood upon my soul,
a rock heavy upon my chest.
Death feels ever present,
and I have yet to fully mourn.
Be near to me as I learn to carry this heartbreak.
Provide comfort to all those in despair and sorrow.
May Your presence help ease the pain of tragedy,
as You shelter us under Your wings,
gathering us close in a world too wide and empty from this loss.
God who weeps with us all,
hold my aching heart, our aching hearts,
with Your vast compassion.
