How precious are all women, all are full of valor!
Their worth is far beyond rubies, emeralds or sapphires.
Their loved ones put their confidence in her,
Knowing she’s got it under control,
And they love her in all the days that come.
Every day, she’s brave and courageous,
Handling all aspects of a normal life,
Alongside planning for what may not come.
She’s like a river that keeps flowing,
Moving forward even when the banks are dry.
She wakes up in early morning hours to prep for all this and more.
She sets her mind upon the things others do not;
She visits the doctor to find out what’s wrong,
And girds herself with strength,
Taking countless supplements and shots.
She sees that she is doing all the work;
And carries herself with grace when her body does not cooperate.
She sets her mind to better things,
To hold on to hope for the miracle of life.
She tends the dream of family like a garden.
She is Auntie, Tia, Tante, Zia and Dodah;
Loving her nieces and nephews,
Wishing she could give them cousins.
She keeps herself strong,
loving them even if they’re not her blood.
She works for years to fulfill her dreams;
Her body has been poked and prodded,
And told she is infertile.
Her soul stays the course,
To keep trying through the pain.
She is clothed in strength and fearlessness;
She knows this is the only way,
She keeps her head held high,
Her calendar is full and computer tabs open.
No matter the outcome, her family loves her dearly
Her spouse praises all her work,
“Many have no idea the pain you’ve gone through,
While still holding so much together.”
Grace is where you find it,
Beauty is in each day;
It is for her devotion to her dreams
That this woman is to be praised.
May her dreams be fulfilled
And if not, know she is a woman worth more than rubies.
