Blessing for Beshert

When twilight enters

The window of your

Aloneness

And your heart aches

For the tender touch of your beloved,

May you be blessed to remain open and receptive.

May the tears glisten on your cheeks as

Diamonds beckoning to your Beshert.

When the sun rises

And shimmering golden rays illuminate your pillow

May you glimpse your Beshert in the light.

May your heart

Fill with yearning and “yes.”

When you are praying for your Beshert to enter your life

Or the life of someone you love, perhaps a son or a daughter

A single parent,

A sibling, or friend –

Someone whose life is as dear to you as your own,

Someone whose happiness is yours,

May you sing that longing

With a melody so haunting and powerful

That the notes go directly to the Source,

Always listening, the One whose

Breath will carry

Your song to the farthest

Reaches of the universe.

May your friends and family

encourage and support you in your search

And may you support others in theirs.

May you follow up intention with whatever action

May be needed to open the gates to your Beshert,

May you take courage

To go to the places that scare you

To show up, stand up, speak up, sing out,

Put on your dancing shoes, wear a funky hat,

Be noticed,

Take notice.

May you be willing to seek actively, to risk,

To receive, to give, to pray, to play,

And never, never, never give up.

And while you are waiting,

While you are waiting,

May you be blessed to become your own Beshert,

May you know, in your heart of hearts,

That loving yourself is

Your birthright gift,

No less than the birthright gifts

Of loving and being loved

By another.

May you be blessed to know

That your Beshert’s boat looks just like

Yours, each with a cargo of divine spark,

White sails filled

With the Wind of Faith

Gleaming

In the moonlight, searching, searching,

Sailing on the same River of Hope.

And when you meet, may you behold

One another, and see the face of God in each

Other’s eyes

May you not pass as ships in the night,

But dare – dare to leap into each other’s

Arms, carrying one another

Carrying one another

Along the Currents of Love.

May Life Unfolding bless you,

With the embrace

Of your Beshert
