Ana Adonai

Red heart carved into a rough, textured tree bark with cracks and some patches of green moss.

I’m not asking politely,
I am begging.
Ana Adonai
I beg of you, God,
help me pray for the needs of this world.

Ana Adonai,
help my heart hold myself in the we of
the pain and destruction we have caused
and not only the pain and destruction we have experienced.

Hoshiah na,
please save me from my hardened heart,
from the internal armor I’ve built because
I have come to feel that there are enemies everywhere.

Hoshiah na,
I am in a narrow place,
please,
deliver me from this pit.

Hatzlichah na,
The Jewish people are victims in this war and have been oppressed.
Hatzlichah na,
The Jewish people are not the only victims in this war and we have oppressed others.

May we succeed in finding a new way forward.

Baruch haba b’Shem,
May all who come in your name be blessed.
