Aluph

Before the differentiation

Of the first letter spoken,

The silence of Aleph

Held all things.

Aluph, Champion God,

Aluph, Captain God,

Elevate me through silence,

Guide me to transcend

The division of language,

Of the blessed, Holy letters

Wrapped tightly in tattered garments

Of filth and mess and cruelty,

Obscuring their illumination.

Help me

Disrobe them.

Aluph,

Hold me within the silence of Kol Tov:

Comfort me during these days of fears.

Although I may not yet know

The sod

I know the secret is there –

Waiting –

In the stillness of all potential,

For me to add

The letter that is my life

To the ultimate

Yet to be revealed.

*Aluph is a name of God used by the Mystics and connotes Oneness and can be translated as “Champion” or “Captain”.

Aleph, the first letter of the Hebrew Aleph Bet is an illusion to it.
