A Prayer for the Uncomplicated

Three hands of different skin tones overlap on a world map, symbolizing unity and diversity.

In a time when our spaces of humanity are shrinking,
embolden us to take a position for humanity.
Help us to affirm that which is not complicated:
that all people deserve to live in safety, dignity, and freedom;
that our traditions call us to care for the vulnerable and the sojourner;
and the deep truth that we share this homeland.
Remind us of our interdependence,
grant us the imagination and courage to think collectively,
and a collective belief in our ability to change.

May we be better ancestors than descendants,
writing a blueprint for a better future than we inherited.
And when peace seems so far away,
when the gains feel too small and the losses too large,
remind us that every life saved is worth saving,
that each piece of peace we build is worth building.

Blessed are You, Source of peace.
