Prayer for Not Spending Holidays With People Who Harm You

may you be blessed

with radical refusal

to be anyone but you

and may the blessing of your absence
yield abundant presence of your own truest self

yes, you go can forth on the journey
like Abraham

just as everyone else is reclining back and keeping their heads down

the ancestral movement away
has always and will always be prophetic

and your differences have always and will always carry you the whole reeling and redeeming way
