We welcome the Sabbath Queen, and ask that ShekhinahThe feminine name of God, expounded upon in the rabbinic era and then by the Kabbalists in extensive literature on the feminine attributes of the divine., God’s Holy Presence, be with us tonight. On this ShabbatShabbat is the Sabbath day, the Day of Rest, and is observed from Friday night through Saturday night. Is set aside from the rest of the week both in honor of the fact that God rested on the seventh day after creating the world. On Shabbat, many Jews observe prohibitions from various activities designated as work. Shabbat is traditionally observed with festive meals, wine, challah, prayers, the reading and studying of Torah, conjugal relations, family time, and time with friends. eveEve, according to the book of Genesis, is Adam's wife, the first woman to be created., we remember the gift of Miriam’s Well, created at twilight on the evening of the Seventh Day. Miriam’s Well was filled with mayyim hayyim, living waters, pure sparkling waters through which God gave spiritual nourishment, healing, and renewal.
Thank You, Mekor ha-Hayyim, Source of Life, for giving us the Waters of Life. Let us drink deeply from the living waters of Miriam’s Well and remember YahA name for God, as in "halleluyah" – praise God. Some people prefer this name for God as a non-gendered option. our God, Who brought us out of Egypt, provided for us in the desert, and created Sabbath Peace. On this Shabbat, may we find peace in our heart, renewal for our soul, and joy with our family and friends.
