To The Captives

A tall, narrow rock stands in a dry, rocky desert landscape under a clear blue sky.

In silence deeper than the night
Where stars can’t reach and hope burns slight
You wait behind the veil of fear
Yet still, we hold your names most dear

No chain can cage the soul’s bright flame
Nor blot out love, nor steal your name
Though taken far from hearth and land
You’re held in every heart and hand

The prayers we whisper every dawn
Are threads of light to lean upon
Invisible, yet strong and wide
A net of care at your side

Your suffering, we do not see
But feel it pierce our souls as we
Still carry pain we cannot show
And long to see your spirits glow

So hold, dear souls, through shadow’s breath
No night can win, no hate remain
The day will come, your chains will break
And justice rise for mercy’s sake

Until that day, we speak your truth
We bear your sorrow, love your youth
And cry to Heaven—bring them home
No soul should ever weep alone.
