Though the Fullness Cannot Be Spoken

Person standing in a field at sunset, arms raised, enjoying the open landscape and warm light.

You can praise God
With offerings, with song
With deeds of justice
With mending a broken world
By studying the ancient words

And yet, beyond thought
Another way emerges

Deep in a still moment
Or even on a crowded street
You can dissolve into life’s fabric
Awake from the dream of separation

For a moment, you float
Or drift in a mysterious current
And a knowing arises
That each struggle, joy, and life is intertwined
And all paths lead to beauty
No matter their outer appearance

And though the fullness cannot be spoken
In a language as impoverished as ours
You know in that moment
A time will come when all is clear
