*Teraphim – pre-patriarchal household deities or oracles, often translated in the Hebrew Bible as “vile things”

Those they call vile things
are an homage
to Her beauty

She who was carved
from hidden heat
and forbidden words

She whose wisdom
has been cheapened
nearly erased

They call us vile things

as though the world
could contain just
one form of value
one way of loving

But we know
our boundless worth
our homes full of love
healing and sustaining

We know
our divine beauty
as we walk strut sashay
staking our claim

We are oracles
for those yet unborn
speaking our truth
our wisdom
a balm and a map

Toward a time
When all truths are cherished
and all faces
bear the mark of eternity
