Background
This prayer was written to be said with the family of a pregnant woman who had learned that she needed to go for an MRI to determine whether or not something was seriously wrong during her pregnancy.
Medical technology in pre-natal care can be equally amazing and anxiety producing. This prayer is intended to help others who, themselves or those they love, need support at a time of medical uncertainty during pregnancy.
Oh Source of Life, Divine Healer, who blessed all those who came before us, bring blessings of healing, peace of mind and strength to ___________ and her family as she goes for an MRI. Keep her and the life she carries safe throughout her pregnancy and may this new life emerge b’sha’ah tovah, at a good, healthy and appropriate time.
Holy One of Blessing, grant _________________’s doctors wisdom and compassion as they treat ___________ and review the MRI images. Grant them strength and good counsel as they speak with these new parents. Strengthen their hearts so they may face whatever comes their way.
יהוה יִשְׁמֹר-צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֲךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד-עוֹלָם

May Adonai guard all their travels, their going out and coming in.
