A Prayer on Child Abandonment

To be un-chosen.
To be put back on the shelf.
To be stranded.

When all we wanted was to be carried off together,
Our feet not touching the solidness of earth.

Because once we walk out of the gift shop and pry ourselves from the broken arms
We find we have miles and sky.

And all that empty space to be un-chosen?
We can fill it with choosing our self.

Learning to Say "We": Writing Identity

In this immersion, we will reflect and expand on our personal experiences of identity, using writing exercises and in-depth discussions to think about, challenge, discover, explore, and experiment with different ways to identify ourselves, to consider how those ways connect us to and separate us from others, and how they represent and misrepresent aspects of who we are.

Four sessions, starting June 15th
