Like the Arrow that Flies by Day (Psalm 91:5):  A Prayer for Calm Coherence in the Midst of the Chaos of Daily Life

calm woman with eyes closed

As another day engulfs me,
may coherence find me.

May it protect me
from the day’s tsunami of to-dos.
May I not be engulfed by the surge
that threatens to drown me
in undone-ness and not-enoughness.

May memory be a protective seawall
to re-call me:
it’s all about the breath.

Breath of Life, Source of Calm,
breathe into me.
Send waves of your calming Presence to remind me—
multitasking is a sometime-necessity.
Not a way of life and peace.

Amen.
