What is Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur? Why do we do the things we do for the High Holy Days? How do the images and symbols of the holiday resonate with you as an individual?
I made this learning guide to help answer people those questions for themselves. The packet is suited for beginners, although I feel that anyone of any skill level would benefit from following it. The packet contains the learning schedule (what readings and activities to do each day) and the accompanying worksheets. While it was designed to build day after day, and flow from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur, you can feel free to work through it at your own pace. The packet explores liturgical, temporal, and internal themes of the holiday, and best serves as a learning guide for expanding one’s own High Holiday practice. You could also use the packet as a base for developing your own hevruta or study group.
