In Preparation

People holding lit candles at a nighttime vigil or gathering.

Standing before the promise

Of another soul

When intention aligns

With the prayers of Shabbat,

My neshama, palpably,

Begins to open.

What she wants most

Is to expand more fully

Into her gifts;

As need recedes,

As growth

Deepens healing:

Where no petition presses

On HaVaYa

Who leads the way

To restoration

And refreshment,

In order that when the new week arrives,

Creation, re-invigorated, has what it needs:

HaVaYah and me

Growing closer, together.
