If we opened our home to others – Dayeinu – it would have been enough.
If we had no home but opened our heart instead – Dayeinu – it would have been enough.
If we remembered the whole story and gave tzedakahCharity. In Hebrew, the word tzedakah derives from the word for justice. Tzedakah is not seen as emanating from the kindness of one’s heart but, rather, as a communal obligation. – Dayeinu – it would have been enough.
If we remembered none of it but gave anyway – Dayeinu – it would have been enough.
If, in our walk to freedom, we dipped our foot begrudgingly into the sea – Dayeinu – it would have been enough.
And if we are still struggling to cross, but working up the courage to  – Dayeinu – we are enough.
