Bereshit | Genesis Paintings: 3 | Not Knowing

Abstract painting with an orange and yellow cloud shape above a flat orange-red landscape and dark red sky.
3 | “Not Knowing”

Lekh Lekha 12:1

Gd said to Avram: Go-you-forth, from your land, from your kindred, from your father’s house, to the land that I will let you see”  (Fox)

At this moment in the narrative, Abraham and Sarah are asked to break with the past and travel into the unknown. In this painting, we feel the enormity of this undertaking where only two markers are given: the horizon and the direction to leave.

Spirit and matter meet at the horizon where inner direction becomes real.  Listening into and dwelling in that place where spirit and matter meet, opens the realm of creative potential where new possibilities emerge to meet the challenges we face.
