Avodah in Two Parts

Part 1.

In the heaviness

Of these post-October 7th mornings,

We turn to our avodah,

Our Holy Service:

The gathering up

Of the ashes of our intention

On the altar of what was, the day before.

Perhaps it is our change of vestments

That helps to sanctify

The ground blessed as holy, pure, expansive

A place to rest

Outside of the camp,

Where

It is quieter.

Part 2.

Begin, again.
