A Ritual For Coming Out As Gay

Announce to the people you wish to come out to, “II Samuel 6:5 states that King David, who is believed by some to have been gay, [or you can omit this part if you believe he was not, or say instead “who was gay himself” if you believe he certainly was] danced as the Ark of the Covenant was brought into the ancient city of Jerusalem. I will now perform a coming out dance [or “have the dance performed on my behalf” if you cannot or prefer not to perform it] as my way of coming out as gay.”

The steps of the dance are:

Move a step to the right.

Spin to the left three times.

Move a step to the left.

Spin to the right three times.

Jump three times.

Bow.

Then say “Thank you for witnessing my coming out. Go in peace.”
