Peace Like a River / Sim Shalom

This chant uses the words of the prayer “Sim Shalom” from the morning prayer service, and it’s mashed up with “Peace Like a River,” the folk song.

The words are:
Sim Shalom Tova Uvrachah Chen V’Chessed V’Rachamim
Sim Shalom, Tova Uvrachah Chen V’Chessed V’Rachamim

Translation: Put, or place, peace and goodness, and compassion or mercy, on us.

Peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul.
And it flows like a river
It flows like a river
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul.

[sings]
Sim Shalom tova, tova uvrachah
Sim Shalom tova, tova uvrachah
I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river,
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul, in my soul
And it flows like a river
And it flows like a river
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul
Sim shalom tova, tova uvrachah
Sim Shalom tova, tova uvrachah
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul, in my soul
And it flows like a river
And it flows like a river
I’ve got peace like a river in my soul
