Joanie

Joanie Calem is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, teacher trainer and an inclusion advocate.  Joanie grew up in Israel and worked both in Jewish-Arab relations and as a musician.  When Joanie’s second child was born with autism, she found herself creating projects at the intersection between music, community building and active inclusion.  Joanie is active as a worship and music leader for Kehillat Sukkat Shalom in Columbus OH. She has 7 CDs for young people, 3 CDs for adults and 5 children’s picture books that all focus on not “othering” people.  She spends her days singing, writing and teaching.
