[Names of parents], you welcomed this child, [name of child], into your home as Foster Parents, and have provided him/her the care and love that all parents should provide for their children. You brought him/her to services, introducing him/her to the melodies and rituals of Judaism and shared him/her with members of this community. You brought him to the Introduction to Judaism class where he often slept, but was also sometimes quite alert, seeming to take in everything around him.
Soon, you will return him/her to his birth family where he/she will continue his/her life’s journey. But he/she will always be a part of you and you will always be a part of him/her. HeShe will always be the one who introduced you into parenthood, its joys and challenges. And you will always be the ones who provided him/her deepest love and care during the first foundational months of his/her life. While you may not know for certain the depth of your impact on him/her, you must trust that it will help to shape him/her into who he/she will become. Your selfless caring for him/her has been an inspiration to all of us.Â
We ask God’s blessing on [name of child]. May he/she grow and thrive with the love of his family. May the love and caring which [names of parents] gave him/her always be part of him/her. May the lessons that [names of parents] learned from their time with [name of child] remain with them when they are blessed to become parents once again.
