Shabbat Kedoshim, 5780

Another month has begun
Things remain uncertain under this sun
We continue to count the mounting cost
Of innocence souls which are forever lost
In those whose lives have too soon passed
We recount the moments which forever last

And in this time of hope run thin
We must find reason once more to begin
Shabbat, Shabbat, the Sabbath bride
Beckons us to once more to her side
To know the love the Shekhinah shares
And for this one day to allay our cares

The blessings of this sacred day
Are always ours as we follow her way
Of Torah’s teachings and pathways clear
It is a Tree of life for those who hold it dear
It is the bond which keeps us all alive
And the words by which we can grow and thrive
