Where I Live While in the Midst of a Move

I live in the spaces of transition.

I move with the flow of events

And the restlessness of these days.

Sometimes I have to keep moving.

Sometimes I’m able to honour the urge to be still.

Sometimes I am quiet.

Recently, I have begun to sing, again.

Sometimes I feel I live in community.

Sometimes I wonder when will the tearing be mended?

Sometimes I well up in sheer gratitude

For davenening with people I am getting to know.

Sometimes I want to weep for the loss of so many

After the bomb went off around the Jewish world.

It’s been almost one year

And my new home

Is now being built.
