People who are displaced have
lives.
People who are in place have
lives.
People who are raped have
lives.
People who are bombed have
lives.
People who have been stolen and are held captive have
lives.
People who are imprisoned have
lives.
People who are killed and have killed, who live alive but deadened lives also, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary, have
lives.
Perhaps our mistake has been praising death when we really thought we were honoring life.
Baruch atah Adonai eloheinu melech haolam matir asurim.
Blessed are You, Creator of the Universe, who frees the bound.
