This prayer for protection is one I created to use as a final prayer for ShacharitThe morning prayer service. Traditionally, Jews pray three times a day -- morning (shacharit), afternoon (mincha), and evening (ma'ariv). (morning prayers) each day. As I say each verse I reach down to the earth and draw energy up my body; clapping my hands together over my head when I say the last word of the first line. Then I move the energy around my head on the second line, and release it back over my body on the last two words.
For me, I’m creating a virtual/energetic tallitA four-cornered garment to which ritual fringes (tzitzit/tzitzi'ot) are affixed. The knots in the fringes represent the name of God and remind us of God's commandments. The tallit is worn during prayer and can also be drawn about oneself or around the bride and groom to symbolize divine protection. to wear over my body during the day to set the intention against harming others or being harmed by others.
