Heart Map: Daniel’s Prayer

When the world was breaking.
And so was he,
Daniel found the nearest window,
Looked outside
Drew a map to the East of his heart.
And prayed.

His prayer did not alter the wreckage.
Mollify G-d, or stop the breaking.
But it moved him to utter the words.
That would become the paths of future generations.

As we seek the centre.
And the land of our heart’s content.
Allow us to see that our maps become other people’s compasses
Our selves become other people’s starting places.
And our footprints become the passageways that eventually.
Somewhere
Some way
Lead our People – and us

Home.
