I came so long
And so far.
And yet, all I can do is stand here planted at the shores of the sea.
Is my life worth nothing when I am standing still?
Looking out into the further and with the memory of all that life back there?
Redemption’s road is winding, waiting.
Calling me home but not quite yet.
Because in this year of my birth, I am, for the first time, awake and not asleep.
And when I stare into life,
This time, I won’t ever, not ever, forget.
