Tefillah/Prayer and Tzedakah/Just Action are the tools
and Teshuvah/Turning is the goal,
but Tefillah is the hardest.
Reading prayers written by others,
even prayers that have survived centuries,
aren’t our voices
and may not move our hearts.
Praying for something to some One never works.
We rarely get the thing we ask for when we ask for it
and give all our power to a One
to answer our prayer.
Since we are part of that One,
asking an other for what we want doesn’t work.
When we pray relaxed and receptive,
like we are when we are about to sleep,
feeling that our desires are fulfilled, we find
that every problem reveals its solution,
that all we can possibly need or desire is already ours, and
that we are already who we desire to be.
